Omnia Vatican & Rome was born from the decades-long experience of Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi (ORP), an activity of the Vicariate of Rome founded in 1934 with the aim of accompanying Italian and foreign pilgrims along the Itineraries of the Spirit throughout the world, offering adequate spiritual and technical-organizational assistance.
Our story
Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi has long been carrying out a valuable pastoral service, accompanying thousands of pilgrims to the most significant places of Christian tradition, offering careful and accurate spiritual assistance at the sanctuaries of Lourdes, Fatima, the Holy Land, Turkey, Santiago de Compostela and to many other places and countries in Europe and the world. Pilgrimage is the metaphor of our existence, an experience that allows us to discover the truth about ourselves, about others and about God; we set out to find ourselves and we meet God. Through the experience of the Pilgrimage we meet people, communities and different religions with whom we sometimes have in common faith and culture, other times simply the same humanity, being a creature of God.
Rome, the heart of Christianity, seat of the Catholic Church, is the place where history, faith and art blend together in a unique synthesis of majesty and beauty. In order for the thousand-year history of this city to be revived, through experiences of art and faith, within each monument, such as basilicas, churches, catacombs, in 2007 ORP created the sector of Christian Rome. An entity dedicated to welcoming visitors of every nation, language and religious belief, providing specialized visit services to the main places of history, art and spirituality of the city of Rome. To support this project and to provide visit experiences also to an individual public, Omnia Vatican & Rome was born, an integrated card of services that allows you to visit the most significant places in the city.
Our mission
The mission of Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi is to welcome everyone. Everyone is welcome and invited to get involved to discover together the essence of Christianity. The goal is to discover, through Itineraries, characterized by the contemplation of natural beauty and the deepening of culture and faith, the places where you can savor the history of men, popes, saints and artists who dedicated themselves to the Church and to the spread of the Christian message.
The unique history of Rome makes the city a destination for tourism that increasingly takes the form of a pilgrimage inspired by the memory of the Apostles, the Martyrs, the Saints as well as the presence of the Vicar of Christ, the Pope. The Church through Beauty wants to make the splendor of Truth known to all men.
Our aims
Thanks to the collaboration with various entities such as the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archaeology, the Colosseum Archaeological Park, Roma Capitale, Zètema Progetto Cultura and many other institutional bodies, it has been possible to differentiate and enrich the proposal for visits to the most beautiful sites in the city: the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill, the Basilica of St. John Lateran with its Cloister and many others, providing a series of benefits such as dedicated entrances, public transport and tourist services.
“"Rome is a great resource for humanity", as long as it is a "fraternal city" cit. Pope Francis.
